Hormone health — perimenopause & menopause

You're not imagining it. And it isn't just age.

Sleep, energy, mood, focus, body composition and libido can all shift as hormones change. FemLab starts by measuring, not guessing — assessment and bloods first, then a plan a doctor stands behind.

Your doctor decides

Symptoms and results read together. A doctor may also decline, and will say why.

Reviewed as you go

Delivered discreetly where prescribed, then adjusted at scheduled reviews.

Treatment depends on your health and history, and is prescribed only where clinically appropriate. A doctor may decline if it isn't right or safe for you. Not every woman qualifies.
Is this you?

The changes women mention most often.

You may recognise a few of these, or none. They have many possible causes, which is exactly why an assessment comes before any conclusion.

Where you are matters

Women's hormones move in stages, not a straight line.

This is the clearest difference from men's hormone care. Levels can fluctuate widely month to month, so where you are in the transition changes what should be measured and what should be considered.

Stage 01
Still cycling

Symptoms can appear years before cycles change. Timing of bloods within your cycle matters here.

Stage 02
Perimenopause

The most variable stage. A single blood result can be misleading, so symptoms carry real weight in the assessment.

Stage 03
Menopause

Twelve months without a period. Priorities often shift towards sleep, mood, bone and heart health.

Stage 04
Post-menopause

Long-term health becomes the focus. Reviews continue on the same schedule.

Educational only. Stages are not diagnoses and cannot be self-assigned — a doctor determines where you are, and whether any treatment is appropriate. Surgical menopause, early menopause and hormonal contraception all change this picture.

Good to know

Your questions, answered.

Am I too early — or too late — for this?+

Symptoms can begin years before cycles change and can continue long after they stop. The assessment exists to work out where you are; a doctor will tell you if it is not the right time.

Do I need blood tests?+

Usually yes for hormone pathways, and timing can matter if you are still cycling. Your doctor will confirm what applies to you.

What if I'm on contraception or a hormonal IUD?+

Tell us in the assessment. It affects both how results are interpreted and what is appropriate, so it forms part of the doctor's review.

Is it safe? What about side effects?+

All medicines carry potential risks, side effects and contraindications, and suitability differs from woman to woman. Your doctor discusses this with you before anything starts, and monitors you afterwards.

How soon would I notice a difference?+

It varies, and no timeline can be promised. Our patients report changes at different points and some report none — that is why reviews are scheduled rather than left to chance.

Can I cancel?+

Yes, anytime.

However you're feeling, it's worth checking.
